Things to Know in the South End Today, March 4: Street Sweeping Starting Again

1. Weather: The National Weather Service is a cloudy day with a 30 percent chance of scattered showers in the afternoon. Temperatures will reach 43 degrees. 

2. Street Sweeping Starting: It’s time to sign up for Know Tow alerts again, because street sweeping has begun in the South End again as of March 1st. The South End is again part of an expanded sweeping program that includes the months of March and December, weather conditions permitting. See here for more information.

3. Moving to the City? One South End realtor is using his own expertise to teach a class for suburbanites looking to move to Boston tonight at 6:30 p.m. at 277 Dartmouth St. The course explores the benefits, obstacles and choices you might encounter in this journey. Topics covered include what you will find different with city-living, how to approach the potentially daunting task in adjusting to a smaller home as well as the mechanics of searching for and selecting your new home. 4. Art at OWK: United South End Artists, Inc. and OKW Fine Clothing & Gallery are combining to present the 4th annual Small Works Show at OKW Fine Clothing & Gallery in the South End. The exhibit will feature original paintings, photography and sculpture produced by member artists of United South End Artists, Inc., and will run through April 4. See here for more information
