Massachusetts Legal Resources is an independent legal publishing site. Since 2013 we have republished the slip opinions of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court, the Massachusetts Appeals Court, and the Massachusetts Superior Court, and we pair new decisions with original case summaries written by our editorial staff.
What we publish
- Full opinions. The complete text of appellate decisions, reproduced from the public-domain slip opinions released by the courts. The official versions are those published in the Massachusetts Reports and the Massachusetts Appeals Court Reports.
- Case briefs. Original summaries of significant decisions: the facts, the issue presented, the holding, the court’s reasoning, and why the decision matters in practice.
Editorial policy
Our summaries are drafted by our editorial staff and checked against the text of the opinion itself. Every quotation, holding, and disposition in a case brief is grounded in the official opinion. We correct errors promptly; if you find one, write to us at the address on our contact page.
