Where to Eat in the South End on Valentine’s Day

Looking to take you and your sweetie out to eat to celebrate Valentine’s Day? Here’s a quick rundown of what some of the top restaurants in the neighborhood are offering. 

Aquitaine Restaurant – 569 Tremont Street
Hours: 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. 
Highlights: Aquitaine will be having a special a la carte dinner for sweethearts, with appetizer choices like Maryland crab galette, diver scallop tartare, entrees including chicken roulade with lobster and truffles, and seared tuna with pork belly. B&G Oysters – 550 Tremont Street
Hours: 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Highlights: A three-course prix fixe menu with an optional oyster supplement, and wine pairings. Entree choices include mahi mahi with duck confit, baked stuffed lobster, and more. Cost: $ 65, a la carte. See here for more information

Coppa – 253 Shawmut Ave.
Hours: 5:30 p.m. – 11 p.m.
Highlights: Reservations only for V-day. Coppa will be serving specials in addition to their regular menu.  Cost: a la carte. See here for more information.

Gaslight – 560 Harrison Avenue
Hours: All weekend, 5 – 11 p.m.
Highlights: Gaslight will be celebrating Valentine’s Day with a special list apps, entrees and deserts to go with their regular menu, including roasted wild striped bass, and petite filet mignon with short ribs. Cost: A la carte. See here for more information.  

Hamersley’s Bistro – 553 Tremont Street
Hours: 5:30 – 9:30 p.m. 
Highlights: The restaurant will be offering a four-course prix fixe menu for Valentine’s Day that includes options like a smoke roasted veal chop, pan roasted lobster and peppered yellow tuna.  Cost: $ 110 per person, a la carte. See here for more information.

Masa439 Tremont Street 
Hours: 5 p.m. – 11 p.m.
Highlights: Masa’s offering a three course prix fixe menu on Valentine’s Day with specials that include ribeye and pan fried Chilean seabass. Cost: $ 59. See here for more information. 

Metropolis Cafe – 584 Tremont Street
Hours: 5:30 to 10 p.m.
Highlights: Special menu items, including a mint-crusted lamb loin and a harissa marinated seared tuna. Cost: A la carte. See here for more information

The Beehive – 541 Tremont Street
Hours: 5 p.m. to 2 a.m.
Highlights: This Tremont Street favorite is celebrating Valentine’s Day all week, with specials including “My Heart Beets Crab Salad,” with beets, hearts of palm and sugar snap peas, and a rack of lamb for two, with salsa verde, roasted potatoes and a blood orange salad. The Butcher Shop – 552 Tremont Street
Hours: 4:30 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Highlights:
Try out The Butcher Shop’s special four course dinner, with specials including a lobster-stuffed beef tenderloin, and beef, lamb and venison tartare. Cost: $ 75. See here for more information.  

Tremont 647 – 647 Tremont Street
Hours: 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. 
Highlights: Stop by Tremont 647 for specials of cowboy steak for two, or rare grilled tune, and stay for the red velvet cheesecake. Cost: a la carte. See here for more information.
