AMBER ALERT: Police Find Missing Boston Child in Cambridge, Suspect Still At Large
A 13-year-old Boston teenager believed abducted by his father was found by Cambridge police Tuesday night. Massachusetts State Police issued an Amber Alert for 13-year-old Jonathan Moore, whom they believe was abducted by his father Tuesday night. According to the alert, police were searching for 36-year-old Jonathan Moore senior, the child and a woman. Police are looking for a red 1997 Toyota Camry, license plate 634 RH4. The suspected abductor, Moore senior, is black, 36 years old, six feet, three inches tall, with black hair and brown eyes. There was no description of Moore senior’s clothing. According to the alert, Moore senior is considered armed and dangerous. While the younger Moore is safe with Cambridge Police, there is no word on the whereabouts of Moore senior. South End Patch
Boylston Crime Scene Still Closed, MBTA Running Normally
A 12-block downtown triangle continues to be closed to the public following the Marathon Monday bombings. Boylston Street from Massachusetts Avenue to Clarendon Street and Huntington Avenue to Newbury Street are closed to pedestrian and vehicle traffic. Copley Station is closed. Trains are running passed this station. MassPike exit 22 on the eastbound side toward Copley Square remains closed. MBTA Police are randomly searching riders’ bags. Passengers on a commuter rail train early Wednesday morning in Framingham were evacuated and searched. The train was cleared to continue. A Wednesday morning accident has caused the MBTA to terminate the E branch of Green Line service at Brigham Circle. Riders must use the 39 bus route for service between Brigham Circle and Heath Street. South End Patch
Things to Know in the South End Today, Feb. 12: Parking Ban Still in Effect
1. Weather: The National Weather Service is predicting a mostly sunny day with a high of 45 degrees. Melt, baby, melt! 2. Boston Parking Ban Still in Effect: As of Tuesday morning, Boston’s Snow Emergency Parking ban is still in effect. In the South End, this means no parking on parts of Columbus Avenue, Dartmouth Street East Berkeley Street, Harrison Avenue, Herald Street, Massachusetts Avenue, Tremont Street, and Washington Street, among others. We’ll keep you posted when the ban is eventually lifted. 3. No School Today: Boston Public Schools announced last night that there would again be no school on Tuesday for Boston students. The city is still at work clearing bus routes and removing snow from school facilities. 4. Mardi Gras at the Beehive: “Laissez les bons temps rouler!” tonight at the The Beehive Restaurant (541 Tremont St.) 6th Annual Mardi Gras celebration tonight at 5 p.m. You’ll get to hear jazz from the BT New Orleans 2nd Line Brass Band, try Cajun inspired à la carte specials, and finish off your meal with a big Hurricane.
