MBTA Police Seeking Assault Suspect
MBTA Police are searching for a male suspect they say “inappropriately assaulted” a female last week at Park Street Station. According to transit police, the male assaulted the female last Tuesday, May 14, while boarding a Green Line C trolley at Park Street. The suspect is a white male who was wearing a red shirt at the time of the incident as well as a gray hooded sweatshirt with black horizontal stripes, blue jeans and sneakers. Anyone who knows the identity of the suspect or knows their whereabouts is encouraged to call the MBTA’s Criminal Investigations Unit at 617-222-1050. Boston Man Charged with Assault and Battery on a Police Officer, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon
Officers were called to the intersection of Lenox Street and Shawmut Avenue, where there were reports of people throwing snowballs at cars. Officers spoke to a group of six to nine people, all of whom a witness claimed were throwing snowballs at cars. Officers recognized two of the people in the group and stopped them. Officers noticed one of the men reportedly moving his hands inside his sweatshirt. Officers ordered the man to remove his hands. When the suspect did not, officers conducted and pat and frisk. The officer reportedly found a hard object, which was later determined to be a cell phone. When the officer went to search the suspect’s waistband and pockets, the suspect pulled away. A struggle ensued and the officer called for backup. Many neighbors exited their homes and demanded an explanation of what was going on. Backup arrived and the officers were able to subdue the suspect and put him in handcuffs. Officers continued to search the suspect and found a folding knife and two bags of marijuana. Officers charged Carlos Lemon of 130 Dartmouth Street with assault and battery on a police officer, possession of a Class D substance, disturbing the peace and unlawfully carrying a dangerous weapon. Man Arrested for Assault and Battery on West Concord Street
The following was supplied by the Boston Police Department. Charges listed do not imply a conviction. A South End man was arrested on an assault and battery charge on Saturday evening, according to the Boston Police Department. Officers responded to an assault and battery in progress at 5:25 p.m. at 108 West Concord St. on Saturday. On arrival, officers found the victim with a contusion on the right side of her face. Police said the victim spoke limited English and had an ice pack on her face, and confirmed that the suspect had struck her, causing her to fall to the floor. The victim stated that there was an argument, which turned violent. Police said they observed heavy swelling to her cheek.
